This option allows a Supervisor to unlock cases. Cases are generally locked when they are opened on a user’s workstation in their local database. This is to maintain data integrity by not letting two users save changes to the same case at the same time. When a case is unlocked it is important to remember that if the case is sent back up to the network from another workstation that did have it open, that case will overwrite any changes made by other users in the meantime. Therefore, whichever case was sent up to the network last becomes the new version.
