System Requirements

Workstation Requirements:

toxiCALL® can run with the minimum requirements of each operating system. For example, if your workstation operating system is Windows® 7 and the workstation meets the minimum requirements of the operating system, then the minimum specifications for toxiCALL® have also been met.

toxiCALL® is compatible with the following operating systems:

toxiCALL® is a client-server application and runs on a desktop workstation running any of the above listed operating systems.

Network Requirements:

SQL Server - toxiCALL® communicates with Microsoft® SQL Server 2005 or later to store the chart information in a centralized location for the site.

Hardware Specifications - The Microsoft® SQL Server specifications must be defined based on your anticipated utilization. Utilization considerations should include items such as call volume, reporting needs, transactions, number of databases hosted, etc.

Required Disk Space – The storage needs for each site will vary depending on factors such as the number of follow-ups performed, notes, lab information, delta logs, etc.

A sample database containing approximately 120,000 cases has a data file size of 5.10GB. While you can use this information to estimate the storage needs of your own site, please keep in mind this information is only an approximation and additional data storage may be necessary.

Backups / Maintenance Plans – It is strongly recommended that a database backup maintenance plan be implemented in your environment to ensure the safe storage and security of your data. The frequency and details of your backup plan will need to be defined and implemented by your SQL Server Database Administrator.

Network Share Folder:

toxiCALL® utilizes a central network share folder to store items such as system configuration files, linked case files, log files, custom displays, quick search toolbars, etc.

A new implementation of toxiCALL® requires 30MB of disk storage to accommodate the files placed into the network share folder during installation.

After installation is complete, the network share will continue to grow as log files are generated, linked case files are stored, custom displays are created, etc. It will be important that your network administrator monitor this file location and note growth rates to help anticipate future storage needs.

Bandwidth / Remote Services

toxiCALL® is designed to run on a Local Area Network but will operate in some Wide Area Network environments. Bandwidth requirements will vary based on the utilization on the remote workstations. Additional implementation considerations can be virtual host environments such as VM Ware.
