Configuring Default Search Criteria and Quick Search Icons

As discussed in the  section of this guide, workflow considerations must be made while using bypass local mode. Items such as locating cases, isolating groups of cases based on status, follow-up time, assignment, etc. are important to specialists. Often we see the local database primarily used to facilitate these needs.

Default Search Criteria

First, we suggest reviewing the documentation and online videos on “Default Search Criteria” linked below. This feature is designed to help limit the cases displayed on the network database search window to only those that meet specific criteria. For example, you can have “Open Cases” or “All Cases Assigned to Me” loads each time greatly reducing the number of cases displayed.

While using bypass local mode, specialists will be returned to the network database each time a case window is closed and it will be important that they are not required to run a search to display relevant cases each and every time. “Default Search Criteria” is designed to address this issue and can even be configured so that each specialist has their own unique criteria applied.

Specialists will appreciate this feature as it will provide them with a clean interface while working in bypass local mode where only those cases of immediate relevance are displayed.

Quick Search Icons:

One of the most important features within toxiCALL® to be used in conjunction with bypass local mode is the “Quick Search Icons”. This feature allows centers to create their own toolbar icons linked with any saved search they desire. Having all common SPI searches accessible via a single click will be essential to fully utilizing bypass local mode.

A common concern with specialists is the ability to quickly locate cases assigned to them, ready for follow-up, all open cases, etc. Often times these are the types of cases downloaded to the local database to create an easy to view “list” of cases to be managed.

With quick case icons, these same cases can now be isolated in easy to review lists via a single click on the appropriate icon, for example, “Cases Assigned to Me”. toxiCALL® will automatically load and apply the appropriate search criteria and display only those cases within the network database search window essentially replicating the “local database feel”.
