Bypass Local Database

ByPass Local is a workstation specific feature that allows cases to be created and edited directly on the network database without the use of the local database. This method of workflow allows the case data on the network to be updated in an almost real-time fashion.

As specialists enter case data, this information is periodically saved on the network database allowing other SPIs to review that case data as read-only while being captured. With more real-time data updates, issues such as duplicate cases are minimized. Additionally, SPIs are much more aware of what cases are being captured at any given moment thus reducing confusion or cross over.

In the event of a network outage or planned down time, toxiCALL® still supports capturing case data in the “Work Local Only” mode until network connectivity is restored. Once network connectivity is restored, case data can be uploaded to the network and workflow would resume normally.

Note:  The “Local” database will still exist to facilitate the “Work Local Only” feature, but will not be utilized in day to day workflow. If you are familiar with the “ToxiLoc.mdb” file, please DO NOT delete this file as it is still required for toxiCALL® to operate normally.

If you are interested in using ByPass Local mode, please feel free to contact CAS support for guidance in change over strategies.
